SALW control: EIFORCES and Japan raise awareness

At the end of this seminar to combat the circulation and proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW), thirty-eight participants from the Police, Gendarmerie, public administrations as well as NGOs from Cameroon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Togo received their Attendance Certificates during the closing ceremony.

While presiding over the ceremony on behalf of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Chair of the EIFORCES Board of Directors, Brigadier General André Patrice BITOTE, Director General of EIFORCES, stressed the importance of this thematic in a global security environment whose precariousness is heightened by the easy access to SALW.

This seminar marks the final activity of the 2021-2022 Convention between EIFORCES and Japan, through the United Nations Development Programme. In the days ahead, a new Agreement will be implemented for the 2022-2023 phase./-
