The International School for Security Forces (EIFORCES) closed its 2024-2025 academic year with a joint convocation ceremony, marking the end of training for Auditors of the 11th Higher Degree of Security Studies (BESS 11) and the 14th Senior Staff Diploma of Security Forces (DEMFS 14).
Presided at by Mr Joseph BETI ASSOMO, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Chair of the Board of Directors of EIFORCES (MINDEF/PCA/EIFORCES), the ceremony was held on 21 July 2025 at the Yaoundé Conference Centre, in the presence of several members of Government, as well as a number of diplomatic, consular and military figures.
During the event, 61 graduates were honoured, including 33 for BESS 11 and 28 for DEMFS 14, all from six African countries – Cameroon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali and Togo – confirming EIFORCES’ pan-African outreach and its leading role in training senior security executives on the continent.
Addressing the meeting, MINDEF/PCA/EIFORCES welcomed the effective implementation of the new Defence and Security community, as called for by the Head of State, highlighting the inclusive and innovative approach of EIFORCES. This dynamic made it possible, for the first time in history, to certify a Cameroonian customs officer alongside his fellows from the Police, Gendarmerie, National Guard and Civil Protection.
The ceremony underlined the institution’s regional influence and its commitment to enhancing the interdisciplinary skills of the continent’s security forces.
BESS 12 is due to open on 22 September 2025./-
